Candome: A Venture Into AfroUruguayan Culture

First contender on the night is "Organizaciones Mondo Afro" a school of Candombe.

At every intersection are a bunch of these fellows.

There are flag people

The flag people are followed by dance people

And more dance people

And old people

Then finally drum people

Ballroom dance people

And finally Activist people.

This is one unit of Candombe. It is a complete parade in itself and took ~45 minutes to pass by, indiviadual Candombe troops/schools do this every week in their own neighborhoods. But this is the Carnaval Desfile de Llamadas. Overall a better experience than the Desfile Inaugural de Carnaval, and thus I left before the other 19 Candombe schools could have the opportunity to change my mind.
